About the role
This is a 12-month, fixed term contract position.
As our Finance Transformation Project Manager, you will be heading up an exciting new project, assisting the selection and managing the rollout of a new financial planning tool across the business. Within the role, you will work on behalf of the Project Board, working closely with internal finance colleagues and external suppliers, to help establish a tool that will enable best practise forecasting and budgeting processes across the various divisions of the business.
The project team have started the process of considering vendors for the project, but with your support we can drive the vendor evaluation process through to tool selection, ensuring that the selected tool delivers against our key requirements. To do so, we expect you to bring a more professional approach to the project framework by setting up project governance, workstreams, charters, plans, milestones, timings, reports and tracking risks. You will run weekly project team update calls, monthly Project Board update calls and report to the Senior Finance Leadership team and the project’s sponsors, as required.
Once the preferred tool has been identified, we want you to present a full business case with value-add analysis to the Project Board for final approval. From there you will: manage the information flow between DS Smith, the selected vendor and our system integrator; assist and trouble shoot any queries that arise; and also compile all aspects of the budget, including capital spend and one off adjusting items, monitoring and reporting on actual spend against budget.
We’d also like for you collaborate on any other ongoing planning projects where we may want to integrate with the new planning tool in the future.
At least five years’ programme / project management experience, overseeing finance transformation projects focussed on forecasting and budgeting, implementing third party technology solutions
Experience in a senior financial planning and analysis role, for a large multinational, multisite organisation
Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and manage key partners within the business, at all seniorities
A strong communicator and collaborator, with a proven track record of driving change and implementing business improvements
Proactive, delivery focussed, with high standards and able to work in a fast-paced environment
A qualified accountant
Experience of Hyperion Financial Management
